WHSYC Social Media Update
WHSYC is on the e-map, i-map, f-map, www-map; you
get the point, come check us out!
This is the latest and greatest addition to the
sailing community courtesy of the American Sailing Association.
Skippers and crew alike can now find each other with the tap of an
icon. The app was launched with the mission of making sailing
accessible to everyone, novices and salty dogs alike. It's an easy to
use, elegant method of uniting people who love to sail. Today's
technology has finally made it a breeze to solve the problem of
skippers needing crew, and sailors wanting to sail.
Search and post your pictures under #WHSYC, #SailAlaska,
you know how it works, be creative and share in the fun! Here's a preview.

Boat Maintenance Services
You work hard to enjoy your boat. With that comes routine boat
maintenance. It is important to protect your shaft and props
with protective Zinc anodes, and that by cleaning your hull and
reducing drag you improve speed and fuel efficiency.
Below are a few options to consider:
Jon LeVan is offering dive services this spring
through June in Seward. Jon is Bixlar's cousin and will be diving
with the same services and rates as Bixlar has in the past. To
contact Jon call or text 907-539-2253 or send an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Seven Seas Sailing Logistics is offering boat watch
services. They will check your boat every other day and send
you weekly photos. Call or e-mail for rates & details: email@example.com or (907)
Exit Marine is a new full-service boat yard in
Seward. Some recent reviews by WHSYC members who have had
their zincs changed by Exit Marine have given glowing reviews
regarding their quality of work and thoroughness. Contact Laura
Schneider at firstname.lastname@example.org or (907) 631-1385.
Harbor offers boat haul out services at affordable 1/2 hour and
hourly rates. Th harbor is willing to lift your boat so that
you can replace zinc's or perform other duties within the rates
posted. Contact the Seward Harbor for rates and more
information if interested.
This is Keith Stone and Ray Hines, and we are riggers
from Anacortes, WA. This is our 14th year in conjunction with the
William H. Seward Yacht Club to come to Seward and work on your
beloved sailboats. This year we will be in town May 12 - 22nd.
We are scheduling work now as we speak. Those of you
who have come to know us over the years know that we have done a wide
variety of quality work on the fleet there in Seward and we would
like to continue this tradition.
We do rig tuning, install furlers, do rig inspections,
any repairs or upgrades you may need, install shrouds, fabricate
lifelines, install running rigging, just about anything you may
need..we'll even help you bend on your sails after a long, dark
winter. No job too big or too small!
Note: Those of you who need parts built like shrouds
or lifelines need to step in soon, with concise measurements, in time
for me to get stuff fabricated and sent ahead.
Thanks to all our Seward friends and we hope to hear
